Standard Grades

SS303(1.4305)

Non hardenable alloy containing selenium and extra amounts of sulfur and phosphorous. Properties close to those of Type 304, elongation somewhat lower. Most readily machinable of all austenitic grades. Weldable by resistance methods, nonmagnetic in annealed condition. Main applications: rivets, pump parts and shafts.

SS304(1.4301)

Basic grade of stainless steel. Good resistance to high temperature oxidation up to 900OC. Very good mechanical strength and creep resistance. Main applications : Pipe and heat exchanger tubes fore chemical and petrochemical industries and for boilers.

SS304L(1.4306)

Low carbon version of SS 304 guaranteed no creep resistance above 500oC. good high temperature oxidation up to 900oC. Main applications: Pipe and heat exchanger tubes in chemical, petrochemical and food industries. 

SS309S(1.4828)

Corrosion resistance similar to, but better than, that of Type 304. Good resistance to high temperature oxidation up to 1093oC. Very good creep strength and weld ability. Main Applications : Heat exchanger and condenser tubes, also for sheath tubes on electric heating elements.

SS310S(1.4845)

Properties rather similar to those of Type 304, Mechanical and corrosion resistance somewhat better. Very good weld ability. Main applications: Industrial furnace parts, fuel lines, special conduit lines.

SS316H(---)

SS 316 with guaranteed carbon content which gives a better creep resistance. Similar oxidation resistance to SS316. Main applications: Heat exchangers, furnaces, chemical and petrochemical plant.

SS316L1(1.4404) 

Low carbon version of SS 316.1 which guaranteed no creep resistance above 500oC. Good high temperature oxidation resistance up to 900oC.Main applications: Pipe and heat exchanger tubes in chemical, petrochemical and food industries.

SS316Ti(1.4571) 

General corrosion resistance properties rather similar to SS316. Good resistance to high temperature oxidation up to 900oC. Main applications : Pipe and heat exchanger tubes in chemical, petrochemical and food industries. Boilers and furnaces. 

SS317L(1.4438 

 Properties similar to SS316L. Main applications : pipe and heat exchanger tubes. 

SS321(1.4541

General corrosion resistance similar to those of SS 304. Good high temperature oxidation resistance up to 900oC. Very good mechanical strength and creep resistance. Main applications : Heat exchangers, furnaces, boilers in chemical and petro chemical plant. 

SS321H(1.4878) 

Carbon version of SS 321 which ensures greater creep resistance. Behaves much the same as type 321  in oxidation resistance. Main applications : Heat exchangers, furnaces, boilers in chemical and petrochemical plant. 

SS347(1.4550) 

Properties similar to those of SS321. Main applications : Pipes and heat exchanger tubes in chemical and petrochemical plant.

SS347H(---) 

Carbon version of Type 347 which gives better creep characteristics. Similar oxidation behavior to SS347. Main applications : Heat exchangers recuperators, chemical and petro chemical furnaces and boilers.

SS410(1.4006)  

Type 410 is least expensive stainless steel. Good resistance to high temperature to 700oC.  Main application : Exchangers in petrochemical industry, heat recuperators.

SS420(1.4021)  

Good corrosion resistance and  good high temperature oxidation resistance up to 700oC.  Excellent mechanical characteristics. Main applications : Threaded pipe for oil well.

SS430(1.4016)   

Better corrosion resistance than Types 420 and 410. Good oxidation resistance up to  800oC.  Main applications : Heat exchangers in petrochemical industry.

SS446(1.4749) 

Highest heat resistant ferritic stainless steel. Excellent corrosion resistance to nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid and most alkalies. Good high temperature resistance to 1100-1140oC. Main applications: oil and gas furnaces, steam boilers, muffle tubes.

SS15-7MO(---)    

Good corrosion resistant properties. Molybdenum increases the mechanical properties. Main application : tubular springs, high strength studs and bushings. 

SS17-7(---)  

Nearly the same corrosion resistance as SS 304. Good weld ability. Main Application : Value and pump parts.
